More than 1,400 years ago: the Banner’s link to جبل شهد and the Trench events

It explains that before the neighbourhood existed, the area carried a deeper connection—centred on الراية (the banner) and the landscape around جبل دباب.
How the area around the mosque became known
According to the video, the story places the start of what is today known as حي الراية to the north of the مسجد النبوي (Prophet’s Mosque), at a distance of about 1,000 metres. The name الراية is said to be connected to جبل دباب, which is associated with the events of غزوه الخندق.
The video also mentions that close by, an incident involving الصخرة (a rock) is linked to the digging of the trench. Over time, a mosque was built on the same location connected to these events—named مسجد الراية. The video notes that this mosque still exists today, keeping the historical memory visible in the present day.
So why is it called حي النصر?
